Folks
First of all, don’t forget that the Carbon Hill Race Day has been postponed to February 8. Now, as promised, here are the details for the next Twister Race:
Date: Sunday February 2, 2020
Time: Registration is from 10:00 to 10:30, followed by the mushers meeting, followed by the race start shortly thereafter.
Where: At Hans and Susie’s place out in Golden Horn (see below for instructions to get there)
Categories:
10 mile sled (8 dogs max)
10 mile skijor (4 dogs max)
Recreational class: 6 miles on sleds, skis, bikes, snowboards, whatever.
How to get there:
Take the Alaska Highway south from Whitehorse. Stay on the Alaska Highway. Three km south of the city limits, turn left off the Alaska Highway onto Gentian Lane. Go 1.6 km down Gentian Lane. Turn Right onto Nighthawk Road. Go 1.1 km. You will see a large tree in the middle of the road. Take a left at that tree. You can go around the tree on either side. Drive another 400 meters. After 400 meters, do not take the road to the left at the bottom of a small hill. Stay right / straight. At the bottom of that small hill (at that intersection) you will see vehicles, a shop, an airstream trailer etc. up the hill. Drive up there and you will be in our yard.
