Dog Powered Sports Enthusiast,

On September 12th at Whitehorse Public Library, 6pm there will be a VERY IMPORTANT MEETING concerning the Animal Protection and Control Laws in Yukon and how they affect you and your dogs.

This meeting is for all mushers who wish to have a say in how we will be governed as sled dog owners. Dr. Mary Vanderkop (Government Head Veterinarian) of the Animal Health Unit for Yukon will be there to answer any questions you may have on the issues concerning sled dog kennels.

This policy is going to be put into place. It is not going away. Have a say in how we will be expected to care for our dogs. We, DPSAY, are asking that you bring your questions written down. Dr. Vanderkop will be given these and will attempt to clarify whatever you wish to have answered. This will also give Dr. Vanderkop a clearer picture of what we, as owners of sled dogs, would like to see in the new policy.
