TOMORROW!!!! – Carbon Hill Race Day & Cadence Cycle Twister

Hello Everybody,

We are happy to announce that we will go ahead and have a fun-filled
“Carbon Hill Race Day” & Cadence Cycle Twister” tomorrow, Sunday, Jan 13th.

30 miles: Alligator Lake Trail Loop (more like 35 miles)

10 miles: “Keep Right” – Loop on the Mary Lake trail (this trail has more snow and is safer for
skijoring than the McConnell Lake loop)

Rec Class: maximum length will be 6 miles, but it could also be shorter depending on what trail we exactly going to use. Loop will be announced tomorrow. We are looking at 2 different options right now.

Kids Dash: right at the Community Hall

PLEASE READ!!!
Since we are experiencing less snow coverage than in the past, we would like to make sure everyone helps to make this a safe event:

  • If you are less experienced or this is your first race, please participate with a smaller team than the maximum number allowed. (reduce dog power!)
  • If it can be challenging for you to control your team… reduce power! Hence run a smaller team or/and carry some weight in your sled.
  • Since one cannot rely on a snow hook on the first miles of the Alligator Lake trail (all the way to the Al Pope Rd), we ask everyone to  have a snub line (safety/tie-off rope) on their sleds in order to be able to secure the team to a tree if necessary!
  • Children and Youth must wear a helmet!

The Organizers of The Carbon Hill Race Day would like to give a special “Thank you” to our main sponsors for this event:

  • Duffy’s Pets and Tanzilla Harness Supply
  • Impact Well Drilling
  • Icy Waters Ltd
