Winter Survival Skills Workshop

Hello Outdoor Enthusiasts,

Once more we are happy to team up with Fabian Schmitz of Bushcraft Yukon to organize a one-day winter survival course.

Winter Survival Skills Workshop
Saturday, December 1st from 9am – 5pm @ Fox Lake

As dog musher and skijorer we often travel and train alone with our dogs and in very remote areas. But what to do when something goes wrong? How to survive for a day or even longer in case we lose our team, get injured in a remote setting, how to prevent and deal with frost injuries?

During this hands-on workshop you will learn a variety of survival strategies, what to pack for a survival kit, how to reliably start a fire in foul weather, how to shelter from the elements, how to stay hydrated, how to signal for help and much more!

Come out for a fun day and brush up your bush skills!

As an intro we will also have a local frost bite specialist Josianne Gauthier from the Whitehorse General Hospital talking about frost injuries, how they occur, what to do in the field and their current treatment program at the hospital.
