Dog Powered Sports Association of the Yukon

It was a beautiful sunny day that welcomed participants at the Old YDMA tracks in the Ibex Valley. Armin Johnson and Mandy Johnson had worked hard to pack the trail after realizing that the trails at Fox Lake were not suitable for the race. We had 12 teams participating in the 12 miles race, with more skijorers than sleds, 10 teams participating in the 10 miles race and 5 kids giving a try to dog sledding 🙂 Two girls, Dominic and Isabel Firth-Gruben had their first try at racing while they are training for a race in Alaska for the Arctic X Games ! And they did very well, go girls !

Racers were rewarded by a delicious moose stew and cakes. Results are posted below. Thanks for all of you for making these races so fun. Next twister race will be at Muktuk Kennels on March 20th. Stay tuned.
