Well, it turns out the willows are not the worst part of the evil willowy section…

The overflow is a bit nasty. This area is about 17km out of Mendenhall, towards Haines Junction. It’s not too long, not much more than a km of overflow, but it’s also sporadic broken up with some snow. These are the worst areas.
As of today, it was totally frozen over, with only a small 5ft section of slush which was only an inch thick or so.

We will have snow fencing in areas where the overflow gets closer to the road, to ensure teams are deterred from getting up on the highway. Luckily Highways plowed the crap out of the roads, the shoulders are totally clear, which means there is a big BERM that teams would have to climb over to get to the road.
